Oud Ispahan is another glossy, sophisticated, particularly silky and clean Western oud-inspired scent, with not much left of the original, animalic dirtiness and rawness of Far East's precious (rotten) gem.The rose is nice, the oud is a dark brown leather variety. Various aromachemicals swill around. They attempted to balance the fragrance by overdosing those ACs as they rose and oud are both so potent. The strongest notes I can detect are oud, frankincense, and rose, with a hint of caramel.Show all reviews. Max Gavarry's 1979 Dioressence smells like the hue of green chalcedony, somewhat polished and glossed, opening up with refracted light aldehydes and dusky leaves of patchouli. It has a texture of granularity, each bit of flora and foliage mosaic-like to the nose.

Are there any similarities between these 2 fragrances ? is it worth owning both?A more playful, citrusy and spicy take on the wondrous oud. Purple Oud by Christian Dior feels like it's targeted for a broader audience of folks who may be put off by the purely animalic / smoky / dry wood of typical clarified versions of oud (including CD's own Oud Elixir Precieux!).
